Nowe parówki zajadają nawet te dzieci, które wcześniej ich nie lubiły

It’s no secret that one of parents’ biggest concerns is how to feed their children healthily and tastily. Of course, the speed of preparation is often crucial, so sausages, which can be served creatively and quickly, often become a great solution.

However, far from all products designed for children that meet parents’ expectations are both tasty and healthy. A brand new arrival from Krekenavos Agrofirma—the “Kodėlčiukas” (The Little “Why”) line of cooked sausage, sausages, and pâté—is a pleasant exception. This product, which has no equivalent in Lithuania, is not only exceptionally tasty but also made without any artificial additives, allowing little ones to enjoy truly healthy food created specifically for them.

First Critics – His Own Children

As Andrius Krivošejevas, the innovation and development technologist at Krekenavos Agrofirma who created the new product series, explains, he was inspired by his own children—two sons who are very picky eaters.

“There are constant negotiations in our house about what the little ones will eat and what they won’t, because you can’t just offer them anything,” Andrius smiled. He says he carefully observed what his children liked most and tried to balance everything.

“I noticed they really love natural butter—not a fat blend, but real, high-quality butter. If they eat pasta, they definitely need real butter seasoning; if it’s potatoes or mashed potatoes, we also use butter. I realized this food additive must be in the new product.

The challenge for me was to create sausages whose taste would please even my own children, as my sons eat sausages very rarely and reluctantly. Since sausages are mostly eaten by children, it was very important to me that they were also healthy, without any E-numbers or other artificial additives, pleasing not only my kids’ taste but also meeting the expectations of parents,” says A. Krivošejevas.

The development of the “Kodėlčiukas” series took a relatively long time—over six months. During that time, the technologist created an average of six experimental samples of sausages, sausage, or pâté every week.

“I worked carefully and responsibly. There were days I’d create several trial products, but I must admit that far from all trials made it to the table of certified tasters. After tasting, I would realize it was still far from what would satisfy me or what I wanted to offer to children, and then I would try again and again. It took a long time to balance the proportions of meat, fat, and spices. I racked my brain on how to incorporate natural, high-quality butter into the sausages and how much was needed so that when the food was heated, it would spread a pleasant milky aroma and children would feel the taste of the butter they love so much,” said the technologist.

When the results finally met all expectations, he felt a great sense of relief—a product specifically for children with no analogues in Lithuania could finally head to the little ones’ tables.

A Hundred Trials to Reach the Result

“In every serious company that respects itself and its customers, there is a team of certified tasters,” A. Krivošejevas revealed. “These are people whose sensory and taste characteristics meet the requirements confirmed by special certificates, so not just anyone can become one.”

While creating the “Kodėlčiukas” line, tasters evaluated his creations about once a week, expressing their opinions through a special questionnaire.

“Taking this into account, I refined my recipe and finally, after nearly a hundred attempts, managed to achieve the perfect taste that met high standards. That’s how a healthy product without any E-numbers or artificial additives was born, containing natural butter with 82% fat content,” said the technologist for innovation and development at Krekenavos Agrofirma.

He is also the creator of award-winning products recognized both in Lithuania and abroad—the “Mėsinga” line, known for its extremely high meat content, as well as the pulled beef and pork, which won the Product of the Year award in 2015.

It seems the new “Kodėlčiukas” line, unique in the country, could become a real breakthrough—no one else in Lithuania has managed to create a product with all these best qualities: it is healthy and meets the taste of even the most demanding young consumers.

“By the way, it’s important to emphasize that the shelf life of this product line is much shorter than other cooked sausages or pâtés. It’s impossible to expect food without artificial additives to have an exceptionally long shelf life, and in my opinion, this is another advantage testifying to its high quality,” said A. Krivošejevas.

Exclusive Packaging for Children

The novelty in Lithuania isn’t just the healthy and tasty products, but also the packaging of the “Kodėlčiukas” line—a playful label with cheerful “little monsters” that will appeal to every young eater, while the convenient and thoughtful packaging will leave a positive impression on parents.

The sausages are small, easy to peel and boil quickly, and the pâté is packed in two 60-gram rolls, so after using one, the other can be safely put in the fridge without fear of it spoiling.

Another piece of good news is that in the near future, those buying “Kodėlčiukas” products will find a pleasant surprise inside—stickers, games, or other lovely treats.
